Education programs
Curricula, short courses and degree-level programs designed with partner institutions and delivered in person or online.
- Curriculum design
- Short courses and certificates
- Joint programs with universities
The International Institute for Educational Excellence designs education programs, trains teachers, funds new ideas through grants and advises institutions on policy.
Every program starts with the needs of the institution we work with, and ends with results we report on openly.

Training that strengthens how teachers plan, teach and assess, with follow-up support in the classroom.
Evidence-based advice for ministries, institutions and funders who shape education systems.
Our mission is to raise the quality of education by building lasting partnerships, equipping teachers with practical skills, and giving decision-makers the evidence they need.

Structured professional development for teachers and school leaders, including a study visit to a partner institution.
Early funding for institutions testing a joint course, exchange or pilot before seeking larger support.
Short, practical studies that answer questions policymakers and institutions face today.
Support for teachers to try, evaluate and share a new teaching approach in their own classroom.
Goals, deliverables and timelines are agreed before work begins.
You always know who is responsible and how to reach them.
Every project ends with a summary of what worked and what did not.
Programs are designed with partners, not delivered to them.
Study visits, workshops and training sessions bring educators together to learn from each other.
Whether you represent a university, a ministry, a foundation or a project team, we would like to hear what you have in mind.
An international institute dedicated to educational excellence through partnership, practice and evidence.
The International Institute for Educational Excellence (IIEE) brings together educators, researchers and policy specialists to work on practical problems in education.
We ask what students should learn, how teachers are prepared, and how education systems measure progress, and we work with partners to find answers that last.
Our partners include universities, ministries, schools, foundations and companies. Each project has a clear scope, a named team and an open account of what was achieved.
To raise the quality of education by building lasting partnerships between institutions, equipping teachers with practical skills, and giving decision-makers the evidence they need.
A world where every learner, in every country, has access to excellent teaching and well-run education institutions, shaped through cooperation across borders.
These six values guide how we choose projects, how we work with partners and how we judge our own results.
We hold our programs to a high standard and improve them using feedback and evidence.
We design with institutions rather than for them, and share credit and responsibility.
We base advice on data and research, and we are clear about what we do not yet know.
We are honest about costs, results and limits, and we manage funds with care.
We work to widen access for learners and teachers who are often left out.
We report openly to partners and funders on what was delivered and what it achieved.
Four priorities shape where we invest our time and our grant funding.
We start by listening, then build programs together with the people who will use them.
Our aim is that partners can run and improve programs without us.
We agree on indicators at the start and track them throughout.
We share results, including lessons from what did not work.
Meet the people who guide the Institute.

Three areas of work that reinforce one another: programs, teachers and policy.
We design and deliver programs with partner institutions, from a one-week short course to a joint degree.
For universities, colleges, vocational schools and training providers.
Good teaching is the strongest lever in education. We train teachers in practical methods and stay with them as they apply those methods in class.
For teachers, teacher trainers, school leaders and education departments.
We help ministries, institutions and funders make decisions grounded in evidence, and we help them check whether those decisions work.
For ministries, agencies, university leadership, foundations and development partners.
Each program can be delivered in the format that suits your institution.
Workshops and courses run at your institution or at a venue we arrange.
Live sessions and self-paced materials for participants in different places.
Online learning combined with in-person sessions and classroom follow-up.
Educators visit partner institutions to see good practice first-hand.
We will come back with a proposal for scope, team and timing.
Four grant programs that give teachers, institutions and researchers the means to improve education.
IIEE grants are small enough to move quickly and structured enough to deliver results.
Each program has its own purpose, eligibility and review process. Calls are announced on this page and open for a fixed period. Successful applicants receive funding, guidance from our team and a place in our network of partners.
Supports teachers, teacher trainers and school leaders to complete a structured professional development course, including a study visit to a partner institution. Fellows return to their schools with new methods and share them with colleagues.
Helps two or more institutions test a new collaboration, such as a joint course, an exchange or a shared pilot, before they seek larger funding. The grant pays for the groundwork that makes bigger projects possible.
Funds short, practical studies that answer a question policymakers or institutions are facing now. Each study ends with a clear policy brief written for decision-makers, not only for academics.
Supports teachers who want to try and evaluate a new approach in their own classroom. Grantees document what they learn and share it so other teachers can use it.
Calls are published here when they open. To be told first, send us an inquiry and choose “A grant or project”.
